Sundays

Sundays at 10

Our Sunday morning gatherings are a vibrant expression of our community. We sing worship songs, pray, hear how the Bible is still relevant in the 21st century and, most importantly, create space to encounter God. These are services for all ages and backgrounds, with a particular emphasis on welcoming families, including dedicated activities for SBC Kids and SBC Youth.

Doors open around 9:30am, with the service running from 10:00 to 11:15 or so, with refreshments and time to chat afterwards.

DWELL at 6

We meet once a month on Sunday evenings at 6:00pm for open worship and praise - going where we are led by the Holy Spirit. So, by its very nature, this gathering will be flexible in its finish time, but what a great place to be!

Whether you’ve never been to church, haven’t been for a while, are looking for a new place to belong or just visiting the area, you are most welcome to come and join in worship with us at these services.

In-person doesn't work for you? No worries

If visiting isn't right for you at the moment, then please gather with us online to worship. The 10:00am service is broadcast live on our YouTube channel, and you can also watch a recording or listen to a podcast of the service later.

We love Sundays, and we would love to see you!

FAQs

  • How many people attend your services?
On a Sunday morning we typically have a gathering of between 200-250, including 40-60 children and young people.
  • Are you a multi-cultural church?
We are indeed! We come from many different backgrounds and cultures and love the richness and diversity this brings to our community and worship.
  • What kind of songs do you sing?
We sing all kinds of Christian songs; from the very old to the most up to date; from those to help the youngest kids to worship to those that help us older ones do the same; from joyous and loud to quiet and reflective. That being said, our worship is led by a band of musicians and singers rather than an organist and choir, so we tend to sing more recent songs, or new versions of older hymns, that suit guitars, keyboards and drums.
  • Will I be visible online?
As we stream our Sunday morning services on YouTube, some of the congregation will be visible online, but we have clearly marked those seats which are out of view of the cameras. They are in the seating furthest away from the stage. If you're not sure where to sit, then please ask a member of the Welcome Team.
  • What’s accessibility like?
We want SBC to be accessible to all, so each entrance has ramped access, and within the building there are ramps or lifts alongside each set of steps. The building also has an accessible toilet, and the sanctuary sound system includes a hearing loop.
  • Do you take an offering during the service?
Yes, we do take an offering during the service, but, if you are visiting, we have no expectation that you will give. You are our guests! But, if you do want to support SBC financially, either during the service or by other means, then more details can be found here.
  • Are there refreshments afterwards?
Absolutely! Please join us for tea and coffee (and sometimes cake 😊) in the Hub area after the 10:00 am service.

To give you more of a feel for our Sunday gatherings we’ve put together this list of FAQs, but, if you still have questions, please feel free to get in touch with the SBC office team.
